Crankcase pressure measuring case for Deutz engine type TTCD 6.1

Description

• During fuel combustion, "blow-by gases" are produced in the engine, which are directed into the crankcase.
• These "blow-by gases" consist of an unburned (usually gaseous) fuel and oil-air mixture.
• These two mixtures are fed (usually via a separator) into the crankcase.
• In a new engine, the leaks between the combustion chamber and the crankcase are very small.
• Wear and an increase in crankcase pressure occur during operating time/running time.
• The older the engine, the more frequently the internal pressure in the crankcase has to be measured.
• Fuels & engine oils that do not comply with EN standards or manufacturer specifications can also lead to the error patterns described.
• Increased pressure in the crankshaft housing indicates various causes of error:
  • Contamination of the crankcase ventilation
  • Wear of the cylinder-piston groups
  • Messages in the error memory
  • coked piston rings
  • leaking valves
  • Engine stalls when idling
  • Engine jerks at idle
• With KGD 02.1, the crankcase pressure can be precisely measured in mbar and compared with the manufacturer's service literature.
