High pressure test equipment Common Rail system

  • The common rail system consists of several modules. The following components are responsible for the injection behaviour of the system:
    • Solenoid-controlled injectors, which are screwed into the cylinder head
    • Accumulator (rail)
    • High-pressure pump
    • The pressure in the system is generated independently of the injection.
    • The speed of the high pressure pump is coupled to the engine speed with a fixed gear ratio.
    • The injectors, which are connected to the rail via short lines, basically consist of an injection nozzle and one solenoid valve each.
    • The control unit is responsible for supplying the correct current to the solenoid valves and thus controls the start and duration of the injection.
    • The amount of fuel injected is proportional to the switch-on time of the solenoid valve and therefore independent of the engine or pump speed.
    • The controller determines the start and duration of the injection by means of the signals from the crankshaft and camshaft speed sensor.
  • The following products are used to test the start pressure of the high pressure pump as well as the pressure at changing speeds
