Common-Rail Return Flow Testers for Injectors

Compare and Evaluate Return Flow Volumes of Common-Rail Injectors!

During operation, a portion of the fuel is discharged through the return line in a common-rail injector.

A return flow test allows the return flow volumes of multiple injectors to be measured simultaneously and compared with one another or with the vehicle manufacturer’s specifications.

Significant deviations in return flow rates can indicate worn or defective injectors and can assist, for example, in diagnosing:

• starting problems
• rough engine idling
• insufficient rail pressure
• loss of power

Leitenberger testers allow for the comparative testing of four or six common-rail injectors. Depending on the injector system and manufacturer specifications, additional adapters or a backpressure valve may be required.

A return flow test is an important diagnostic procedure, but it does not always replace a more comprehensive injector test on a test bench.
