Test Rail Pressure and High-Pressure Generation in Common-Rail Diesel Systems!

Common-rail diesel systems operate at very high fuel pressures. The high-pressure pump compresses the fuel supplied by the low-pressure system and delivers it to the common pressure reservoir—the common rail.

With Leitenberger’s common-rail high-pressure testers, the actual system pressure can be verified independently of the sensor data displayed by the vehicle’s diagnostic system.

Depending on the tester, the following are possible, for example:

• Testing the pressure build-up during engine start-up
• Measuring rail pressure at different engine speeds
• Static or dynamic pressure testing
• Comparison of the mechanically measured pressure with diagnostic values
• Assistance in evaluating the high-pressure pump and pressure control

Leitenberger offers analog and digital testers for various pressure ranges up to 2,500 bar.

Due to the extremely high pressures, only high-pressure gauges, hoses, and adapters suitable for the respective common rail system may be used.
