Description
The 12 V trailer tester is a professional testing device for checking the 13-pin trailer socket (ISO 11446) on the towing vehicle. Ideal for automotive workshops for quick troubleshooting, functional testing of trailer lighting, and preparation for vehicle inspections – reliable even with modern CAN bus vehicles thanks to integrated load resistors.
Your advantages in the workshop
- Test trailer sockets – without a trailer: No trailer is required to test the (electrical) trailer socket on the vehicle.
- Convenient testing from the driver's seat: Thanks to the 5.0 m connection cable, one person can comfortably perform all tests from the driver's seat.
- Fast, clear diagnosis: The proper functioning of the socket is indicated by an LED display directly on the tester when the consumer is switched on.
- CAN bus compatible: Integrated load resistors (e.g. for turn signals and rear fog light functions) ensure practical test results.
Test functions (13-pin, 12 V)
- Testing of the relevant light functions on the trailer socket, including:
- Turn signals
- Brake lights
- Tail lights
- Reversing light
- Rear fog light
Lamp failure and trailer simulation
- The ZWT 20 can be used to simulate the functionality of a trailer (simulation of a “fully functional trailer”).
- With ZWT 20, relevant lamp failures can be simulated – the lamp failure is displayed in the cockpit (practical for diagnosis and HU check).
Typical applications in the workshop
- After initial installation (e.g., retrofitting AHK/socket)
- HU preparation and HU approval
- Troubleshooting sporadic failures, contact problems, coding/trailer detection
- Function check after repair/accident repair in the rear area
