Aero wiper testing and adjusting tool, basic equipment

Description

• The new generation of wipers without bezel from Bosch, Valeo, SWF etc., known under the trade names "Aerotwin", "Flat blade" etc., require new measuring and adjustment tools. The wiper blade mounts (on the wiper arm) must have a specified angle to the front or rear windshield. 
• Application for:
  • rattling / rubbing / squeaking of the wiper blades
  • poor wiping result
  • uneven wiping result
  • Windshield replacement
• It is absolutely necessary to check the angle after every windscreen change, because the angle has most likely been changed by the installation of the new windscreen.
• Angle measurement: For angle measurement, the wiper blade is removed and connected to the wiper blade holder. Various adapters are used to make a precise connection between the wiper blade mount and the angle measuring device. Adapters are available for all wiper arm types. (Bosch, Valeo, SWF etc.)
• Angle setting tools: The special feature of these new wiper systems is that no force may be applied via the wiper blade mount for angle correction. The adjustment tools, depending on the wiper arm type, always consist of two identical parts, adjustment tool and counterholder. Angle measurement and angle adjustment can be performed simultaneously.
• Contact pressure of the wiper arm: The contact pressure of the wiper arm to the window is approx. 10 N, tolerance ± 1 N. If the contact pressure of the spring is < 10 N, an optimum wiper result is logically not possible, then the spring or the complete wiper arm must be replaced.
